CCTV Drain Surveys

DS Serve's advanced drain CCTV survey technology is one of the best in the industry.  We have built a name for ourselves as a specialist in drainage system management on residential housing developments and in schools, however our services are also 1st class acrosss any and all domestic and commercial properties' drainage systems.  If you need the most cost effective way to inspect your domestic or commercial drains or sewers, there is no better option than drain CCTV.

The pin head CCTV cameras can access pipes from 50mm in diameter to drains of 900 mm in diamater, allowing us to located and diagnose drain problems whilst providing an excellent video picture (with stills) which we then transfer onto USB, providing you a detailed full-colour insight into the state of your drains.

Our remote controlled cameras relay the images to our hard-drive located within the van, with no disruption to the property or environment around the drain whatsoever.

DVD  or  USB?

Following a drain survey, we will provide you with a drain survey DVD (or USB if you prefer) displaying any findings so that you can be fully aware of the state of your drains, whether good, bad or indifferent.

We often find that for some customers with persistently probelmatic drains, having a CCTV Drain Survey done, which can be carried out from as little as £99 for a "look-see", can give them the most peace of mind before any form of remedial works are quoted.  We regularly carry out CCTV drain surveys for our own customers as well as acting as an intermediary neutral when another drainage company is carrying out the work.

Drain CCTV can reveal...

Tree roots - Tree roots look for moisture so they gravitate towards any cracks in a drain.  The problems start once the tree's roots have got into the drain.  Tree root then grow and start putting pressure on the drain from the inside causing it to expand, crack and reshape.  Once this happens, blockages will be frequent and waste that should be leaving the property via the drains will be finding its way elsewhere.

Misaligned Drains - A misaligned drain will mean that where each intersection meets, it is not flush.  When it is not flush, a gap appears allowing waste water and other debris to creep out.  This seepage will eventually get into the soil and under foundations with the worst case scenario of subsidence.  A safety hazard as well as something which will cause problems with your buildings insurance and also a hassle when trying to sell your property.

Fractured pipes - Heavy vehicles driving over the nearby ground, can create pressure causing cracks and fractures in the pipes of your drainage.  If these pipes are left alone or this goes undiscovered, they can leak into the soil which could result in subsidence.

Collapsed drains - Sadly, the biggest cause of collapsed drains is the result of the drains being poorly laid during the building stages. A collapsed drain not re-patched, relined or repaired in other ways can result in subsidence and other environmental damage.

Drain CCTV Surveys for selling your home

Drain surveys are required by nearly all mortgage lenders nowadays, as a faulty drain can be a potentially huge risk to a lender.  If you are buying an older property, or a property which has undergone extensive refurbishment, or you are buying in an area of recent heavy construction, it is a good idea to seek out a drain survey.  Taking this affordable option can give you the peace of mind of knowing that  a bill of 10s of thousands of pounds is not lurking round the corner for something you could have avoided.
